Ouistreham & the nearby area
Just 10 minutes away from Caen, the gate to England, with daily ferry rides to Portsmouth. Caen is also immediately accessible via well-indicated main roads, but just comfortably off the beaten track. All year round, the place never stops buzzing ! Ouistreham is an all-year-round affair, come rain or shine, regardless of whether you're a fisherman, hunter, vacationer, golfer, history fanatic, globe-trotter or hiker.
The resort offers a whole array of recreational activities: beach, sailing (Ouistreham has been labeled 'France Station Nautique' (Nautical French Station) since 1992), tennis, horse riding, go-karts, golf, swimming, spa, movie theater, nightclub, bars, stores and fish market, to name a few.
A short distance away, on the way to Courseulles, you can visit Côte de Nacre (pearly coast), or Côte Fleurie, on the way to Honfleur. You will also appreciate the Normandy landing beaches and Bayeux, a remarkably well-conserved Medieval town. You should also definitely plan a trip to Caen, the capital of the Low Normandy region, with its quality environment : marina, amazing heritage and abundance of parks. Last but not least, relish the timeless charm of Cabourg, and Deauville, to this day the locations of some of Normandy's finest beaches.
